Valentine's Day is just a couple days away, and maybe you want to go all out this year. Candy, flowers, romantic dinners... But what about chew toys, or squeaky balls, or bully sticks? I know it sounds like I'm talking about something a bit inappropriate, but I'm actually suggesting that a rescue pet from the Humane Society could be your Valentine!

The Bangor Humane Society is featuring some special friends up for adoption on their Facebook page, but they're also reminding folks, that even if you can't adopt a pet right now, you could still send Valentine's gifts to those that will be visiting a little longer. They even have a link at their Facebook page that goes to a special Amazon account.

See, I don't have any pets. I'd love to, but it's just not in the cards right now. But... I could participate in an awesome situation like this and help out the dogs that haven't found their forever homes yet. I figure, it's the least I can do.

Maybe give it a little thought this Valentine's Day. Why not? And it doesn't necessarily have to be Valentine's Day. The Humane Society could use your help whenever it's convenient for you. Maybe you feel a bit more generous around Flag Day or Arbor Day, whatever... But I guarantee you'll feel wicked good about your decision.
