According to the Bangor Daily News, Gov. Janet Mills has not yet filed the paperwork to formally withdraw from Maine’s Democratic U.S. Senate primary after suspending her campaign last week.
Because her decision came less than 70 days before the June 9th primary, her name will remain on the ballot alongside frontrunner Graham Platner and David Costello, with votes for Mills counting unless she officially files a withdrawal notice with the state.

Despite announcing on April 30th that she was suspending her campaign, as of May 6th, Mills’ campaign website remains active and current, with donation options still available and language throughout the site continuing to present her Senate campaign as ongoing.
Her website biography also continues to describe her as actively running for U.S. Senate and focused on lowering costs, addressing issues in Washington, and standing up for Maine residents.

And there you have it! Due to the timing and nature of her withdrawal from the race, Janet Mills will still appear on the ballots alongside her political competitors.
