A reward of $20,000 is being offered for information that solves an Aroostook County unsolved homicide.
Maine Cold Case Murder of Kenneth Zernicke is Nearly 10 Years Old
Kenneth Zernicke, 58, died on the evening of September 24, 2015 in Caribou. The mystery surrounding his death remains 10 years later.
Caribou, Maine Man's Death in a House Fire Ruled a Homicide
On that September evening, the Caribou Fire Department responded to a report of a house fire at 5 Lower Lyndon Street, Mr. Zernicke's residence. While battling the blaze, firefighters discovered the homeowner's body.
An autopsy by the Chief Medical Examiner's office ruled the death a homicide.
No one has been arrested, in the last 10 years, for the murder.
Reward Offered for Information About 10-Year-Old Maine Cold Case Murder
Joe Bergoine, Kenneth Zernicke's brother, is hoping for some answers and so has increased the offered reward to $20,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for Kenneth's death.
