Maine Teen Says a Strange Man with a French Accent Followed Her
A Maine high school student told police a man accosted her verbally and then followed her in a vehicle.
Chilling Interaction With a Stranger Left High School Student Shaken
An incident in Westbrook earlier this week has left students, educators, and parents alike shaken and on high alert. A local high school student told police of a scary encounter with a strange man that happened on Tuesday. The girl said the man verbally accosted her on Monroe Avenue and then followed her for several blocks in a silver vehicle. Once the student was safe, she reported it to the School Resource Officer. Now, police are asking for the public's help identifying the man in question.

Westbrook Police Say the Man Had a Distinct French Accent
Westbrook Police say the vehicle is described as a silver sedan, possibly a Chevrolet, with tinted windows and the car logo on the front of the car blacked out. Officials say the driver is described as a black male in his 30's, with a French accent, a heavy-set appearance, short haircut, and no facial hair. While there are no images of the suspect, his vehicle was captured by a surveillance camera.
Residents With Surveillance Cameras Are Asked For Their Help
Westbrook Police are asking residents along the path of this incident to check their surveillance and doorbell cameras to see if they have a picture of the suspect. Anyone with information that could lead police to identify the vehicle and suspect is encouraged to contact Westbrook Police at 207-854-0644. Anonymous tips can be left at 207-591-8117 or via Facebook messenger.
Police are providing an increased presence at the high school this week.
