Maine State Police are Asking for People to Stop Reporting a Crashed Truck

Usually, police agencies want to hear from drivers who see disabled vehicles on the interstate. I mean, there's a lot of highways in Maine, and it's impossible for the State Police to be everywhere all at once. So they encourage residents if they see something to say something. But in this case, they're asking the public to stop calling.

Apparently, Maine's 911 dispatchers have been very busy with calls from multiple motorists about a tractor-trailer that's lying on its side near mile marker 143. The truck is located near mile marker 143 on the southbound side of I-95 in Pittsfield. Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesperson Shannon Moss says the tractor-trailer crashed on Thursday. There was minimal disruption to traffic and no one was hurt in the crash.

Maine State Police Say They're Aware of the Tractor-Trailer

In a post on the Maine State Police Facebook page, officials say they're aware of the overturned rig and plan to remove it next week, on Tuesday. The truck is as far off the roadway as possible, is near the tree line, and is marked with orange barrels and caution tape.

Other than this truck, Police continue to encourage people to report incidents like this. But in this case, they know about it and have it under control.
