What Prompted the Charge?

The charges stemmed from an incident that was caught on video by someone in a nearby building who told authorities that they had noticed Dore taking pictures of the 19-year-old woman. In the video, Dore appears to lower his phone to below the level of the woman's skirt as he walks behind her before putting the phone in the front seat of the car. The teen, who was dealing with some paperwork on the back of the vehicle, appeared to have no knowledge that the picture had been taken. The video was posted to Facebook by Katie Perry of Madison, who said she didn't take the video but that it had been given t her by someone else.

How Did Police Become Aware of the Incident?

Authorities were alerted to the incident and were given a copy of the video. Dore resigned as co-owner of the popular Old Mill Pub in Skowhegan after the video of his actions appeared on social media. The eatery briefly closed its social media page and then posted an announcement that they had accepted Eric's resignation. He co-owned the pub with his brother, Benjamin Dore.

Upskirt photos are illegal in the state of Maine and are punishable by up to 364 days in jail and a $2,000 fine.
