Human Remains Were Found Near The River in Falmouth
Human remains were found on the bank of the Presumpscot River in Falmouth over the weekend.
Falmouth Police Say the Initial Report Didn't Specify That the Discovery Was Human
Just before noon on Saturday, Falmouth Police received a report of a suspicious object on the riverbank. Officers responded to Walton Park and discovered that the 'object' was the human remains of an adult male. They called in the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit to aid in the investigation.

Maine's Chief Medical Examiner Will Try to Determine the Cause of Death
The remains will be examined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, who will try to determine the person's identity and how they died. Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss says there is no known danger to the public.
