1 Killed in New York Crash Caused by Wrong-Way Driver from Maine
A Maine man was driving the wrong way on a New York highway when he hit a vehicle head-on, killing one person and injuring three others.

Brian O'Leary, 37, of East Millinocket caused the crash that claimed the life of Kathy Groshans, 47, of Port Henry, New York.
How Did the Crash Happen?
The crash happened Monday evening on Interstate 87 in Lewis, New York. According to the Press-Republican, New York State Police received a report of an F-150 pick-up truck going the wrong way in Lewis, New York Monday evening on the Adirondack Northway, which is also known as Interstate 87. When police caught up to the vehicle, they tried to initiate a traffic stop, but the pickup didn't comply in time, striking another vehicle head-on.
Was Anyone Else Hurt?
Kathy Groshans was a passenger in the truck and was pronounced dead at the scene. Also in the vehicle were her husband, 66-year-old Dale Groshans, who was driving the pickup, and their two grandsons, ages 4 and 7. Dale sustained a head injury and was listed in stable condition while the boys were flown by helicopter to the University of Vermont Medical Center and were also listed as stable.
Brian O'Leary was taken to a local hospital and then flown to the University of Vermont Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Officials say he suffered head trauma and internal injuries and was listed in very critical condition.
New York State Police continue to investigate this crash and whether substances may have been a factor.
