A Dog Was Shot in North Yarmouth While Out For a Walk With Its Owners
The charges stem from an incident on Friday when three people were walking their dogs on a marked trail in the Knights Pond Preserve in North Yarmouth. The dogs were walking approximately 20 feet ahead of their owners when one of them was shot and killed. The owners of the dog had a brief encounter with the shooter, but he quickly fled the scene.
Operation Game Thief Offered a $2,000 Reward For Info That Led to an Arrest
Game Wardens got statements from several eyewitnesses and collected evidence of the scene. They released the information to the public and requested any video footage of the suspect that may have been recorded. He was described as a middle-aged man in a dark-colored, full-size pickup truck. Maine Operation Game Thief also offered a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for the dog's death.
Hall turned himself into authorities the next day. There's been no mention of a motive for the shooting, at this point.
