Two people were killed when their vehicles were hit by a tractor-trailer from the other side of the interstate.

Two Maine Residents Died in the 3-Vehicle Crash in Southern Maine

Police have identified the deceased as Linda Huelsman, 64, of Kennebunk, who was driving a Cadillac sedan, and Brian Ellis, 55, of Kittery, who was driving a Mack truck owned by EAN Holdings of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Just after 6:00 Thursday morning, Maine State Police responded to the southbound side of I-95 in Ogunquit for a report of a fatal motor vehicle crash. When the Troopers arrived, they found three vehicles and three injured parties. Linda Huelsman was deceased. Brian Ellis was transported to a Portsmouth hospital where he later died of his injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer, 35-year-old Xiaoying Ma of New York had non-life-threatening injuries.

Maine Police Say a Tractor Trailer Hit 2 Vehicles on the Opposite Side of I-95

An initial investigation into the crash indicates that the tractor trailer, owned by EW Logistics of Hauppage, New York, was traveling northbound when the driver lost control and crashed through the median guardrail, hitting the other two vehicles that were traveling south. Officials say weather conditions are believed to have been a factor in the crash.

The Attorney General's Office Will Determine Whether Charges Should Be Filed

Officials shut down the southbound side of the interstate at Exit 14 in Wells. The investigation is ongoing and, when it's completed, the findings will be submitted to the York County District Attorney's Office for review of any criminal charges.
