Hazel has been listening to Q-106.5 since the beginning and, this week, had her picture featured on the Bangor Police Department's Facebook page.

I love Hazel. She's one of the nicest, sweetest women I've ever met, and I've known her a long, long time. I've been with the radio station for over 29 of its nearly 31 years, and Hazel was among the first listeners I met. She always has a smile and stops to chat, whenever she sees me, and I enjoy our conversations.

Let me tell you a little about her. Hazel is 76-years-old and walks all the time. As the Bangor Police Department's post says, she also rides the Community Connector on a regular basis. Despite her senior citizen status, Hazel is rarely idle. These days, I usually see her at the Thomas Hill Standpipe, where she still climbs to the top every time it's open. 100 steps to the top, which would intimidate people much younger than her. But it doesn't stop Hazel.

I'm thrilled that the Bangor Police Department included her in their Facebook post. And I have to congratulate Hazel, not only for the recognition, but also for the fact that she has two young hunks on her arms. Go, Hazel! Seriously, thanks for being a devoted listener and for always bringing a smile when we see you. We appreciate you!
