
Lewiston Woman Accused of Killing a 90-Year-Old Litchfield Man
A Lewiston woman is facing charges after the death of a 90-year-old man was ruled a homicide.
The Suspect Was in Jail on Unrelated Charges When Police Charged Her with Murder
Shari Allimah, 55, of Lewiston is charged with murder. At the time of her arrest, she was already incarcerated at the Androscoggin County Jail on unrelated charges.

Police Were Called to the Home by a Family Member of the Deceased
Family members of Gerald Marin, 90, of Litchfield called the Kennebec County Sheriff's Office to check on their relative at 1724 Hallowell Road in Litchfield. When law enforcement arrived, they found that Marin was deceased inside his home. Deputies contacted the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit, who began investigating the circumstances of the man's death.

Mr. Marin's Death Was Ruled a Homicide
As detectives and evidence technicians worked at the scene through the weekend, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy on Sunday. As a result of that examination, Mr. Marin's death was ruled a homicide. The cause of his death has not been released.
On May 22, 2024, Major Crimes detectives arrested Allimah and charged her with murder. The motive for the murder has not been released.
