Okay wait…did you hear?  Funtown Splashtown is getting a new splash this summer and honestly, it sounds adorable.

It’s called Lazy Lobster Lagoon, how Maine is that?

So according to Funtown Splashtown, it’s this huge new splash area for kids replacing the old Family Fun Lagoon and it’s opening for Splashtown’s 30th anniversary season.

This feels like a pretty smart idea because kids LOVE to splash. Ask any Mom, ever. They can run around like crazed maniacs for hours while us parents, sit for at least 45 seconds pretending to relax. But no, really.

Maine's Funtown Splashtown's Newest Attraction is The Lazy Lobster Lagoon

Also the name alone paints such a picture.

Like… sunscreen everywhere, wet flip-flops squeaking little feet, someone carrying fries, a kid screaming “WATCH THIS” before doing absolutely nothing impressive.

Yup, it's summer in Maine and it wouldn't be a true summer without spending the day at Funtown Splashtown.

And as a part of their 30th anniversary, they are doing this amazing Lazy Lobster Lagoon, check out the video below for a sneak peak of their blue prints!

This lagoon is 3,200 square feet with zero-depth water, designed for all ages, according to their page.

I can see it now, the babies with their little floaties... adorable.

Funtown has reopened and Splashtown is set to open on June 20th, so this is basically your warning that summer fun is coming pretty quickly.

Time to dig out the swimsuits, forget where you stored the beach towels, and mentally prepare to spend an entire day smelling like chlorine and sunscreen.

Honestly though? This sounds like such a cute and welcome addition for Maine families this summer.
