According to the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office, authorities were called to a home on Indian Avenue in the town of Mattawamkeag at around 6:30 AM. They were told someone at that address had been stabbed.
"As deputies responded to the scene, it was determined that the victim had fled in a vehicle to another residence. Deputies arrived at the second location, located the victim, and confirmed their injuries. The victim was then transported to Penobscot Valley Hospital in Lincoln for treatment."

It still remains unclear from the report as to which party sustained the injuries. However, we're told that the Maine State Police were called in to aid Sheriff's deputies in securing the original crime scene, back at the home on Indian Avenue.
The Portland Press Herald reports that the individuals involved were familiar to one another and residing in the same household.
"In an email Thursday evening, Sheriff Troy Morton said the people involved know each other, and both live at the Indian Avenue residence. He declined to share more information about who was stabbed."
Authorities say it's still an active investigation, and as such, they won't be commenting on whether anyone's been arrested or charged with anything connected to the stabbing.
