Whether it's the all-important first cup of joe or that special spot where you meet for that perfect afternoon pick-me-up, finding good places to get a great cup of coffee is a must for a coffee lover.

While Bangor has many possibilities when it comes to well-known spots with drive-thrus like Dunkin, Tim Hortons, Coffee Express, and even a new Aroma Joe's, there are 3 places, tucked right into the heart of downtown Bangor, that are worth the walk to get there.

The Grind House Bangor-Central Street

For as long as I can remember, there has always been some sort of coffee shop on the corner of Central Street and Hammond Street in Bangor. It's an important location in the Downtown area, connecting most of the major throughway streets. For a long time, it was Giacomo's. More recently, The Grind House.

Dine in and watch drivers attempt to parallel park along Central Street, or sit outside and enjoy a scone in the sunshine. A fun feature you can try at The Grind House is a Coffee Flight!

They're open from 8 AM to 3 PM every day except Monday.

Once a week, people clamor for the fresh, handmade bagels they get from Bill's Bagels,  a bakery in Orono.

Their coffee is not just delicious, but often comes out looking like art itself.

While Chimera Coffee is usually open Tuesday through Friday from 7 AM to 4 PM, and weekends from 8 AM to 4 PM, they've been staying open later on Monday evenings to host a local trivia night from 7-8:30 PM.
