From Wheels to a Restaurant: Bangor Food Truck Sets Opening Date

New business alert!

I can't lie, I have a fairly huge obsession with food trucks. I really get obsessed when there are multiple trucks in one space at the same time, so it goes without saying that I have spent more than a few days on the Bangor Waterfront, grabbing lunch.

Food trucks have existed since as early as the 1930s, but they gained their true popularity in more recent decades, after the 2008 recession.

At any given time, there are a multitude of trucks out on the streets in the Bangor area, and beyond, but one is taking it to the brick & mortar level.

What started as a dream in a food truck is officially growing roots! Dreamer Food , will soon open its first brick-and-mortar location at 97 Allen Street, on the West Side of Bangor.

The grand opening date is set for Wednesday, February 18th!

Since Dreamer Food debuted on the Bangor Waterfront in May of 2024, they have been serving up a mix of savory and sweet, with many traditional Middle Eastern/ Levantine dishes

Dreamer Food was born from the passion and creativity of Anik and Kera, two nurses with a shared love for great food and big dreams. Anik, and Kara, spent years caring for others, but they wanted to create something that would bring people together in a different way.

Combining their culinary creativity with a commitment to quality and community, they launched Dreamer Food – a food truck that’s all about delicious eats, and good vibes.

Dreamer offers a mix of savory and sweet, with many traditional Middle Eastern / Levantine dishes:

Here are some of their most popular items:

  • Shawarma (sandwich, bowl)
  • Mediterranean chicken sandwich, shish taouk
  • Hummus (in various flavors)
  • Roasted vegetables, beef pockets, spanakopita

They also offer vegan/gluten‑free options

The desserts are the perfect ending to every meal, some of the tastiest include:

  • Baklava, cheesecake, tiramisu
  • “Dubai chocolate” bar (a dessert bar made with shredded filo/kataifi, nuts)
