Police Continue Search For Missing Maine School Board Member Accused in Infant Overdose
According to an article on the WABI website, members of the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office are continuing to search for a woman wanted in connection with the overdose of an infant earlier this year.
Investigators say they are looking for 36-year-old Brittany Wood in connection with the May 31 incident.
Authorities have obtained an arrest warrant charging Wood with domestic violence aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
According to the Sheriff's Office, investigators have been in contact with both Wood and her attorney, but she has not yet turned herself in.
Wood also serves on the RSU 63 Board of Directors, representing the town of Eddington. RSU 63 serves the communities of Holden, Eddington, and Clifton. Former school board member Heather Grass confirmed Monday that Wood remains a member of the board. Her current term is scheduled to expire in June 2027.
Efforts to obtain comment from RSU 63 School Board Chair Rachel Downs have so far been unsuccessful. WABI reported that emails and phone calls seeking comment had not been returned as of Monday.
The Penobscot County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with information about Wood's whereabouts to contact the agency at 207-947-4585.
