Of course, Maine is known for its small-town charm, but where are the smallest towns in Maine? Here's what we came up with.

Population: 44Nashville, Maine is about as far from its namesake in Tennessee as you can get. It's a small town just west of Ashland in Aroostook County. It's not the country music capital of the world, but it does have 22 houses and is home to Little Machias Lake.

Population: 44Not to be confused with the Penobscot County town of Lincoln, this plantation is in Oxford County right on the New Hampshire border. As you'll see, it does have its own town hall.

Population: 36The Forks is in Somerset County right on the Kennebec River. It is known to host some of the best whitewater rafting in the state and home to the beautiful Moxie Falls.

Population: 5Now we're getting into the single digits. Frye Island is part of Cumberland County and only has five year-round residents. It's located in Sebago Lake and became Maine's newest town in 1998, according to the town's website.

Population: 3We made it! Here's the smallest town in Maine. Glenwood is in Aroostook County and sits on the shore of Wytopitlock Lake just southwest of Houlton. There's really not much more to say except there are three people there and we imagine it's very peaceful.
