Hancock County Relay for Life Saturday the 25th in Ellsworth
Every one of us has been touched by cancer in some way. If not you, someone you know. A relative. A friend. Someone you know in the community.
Relay For Life is a community-based fundraising event for the American Cancer Society. Also a movement, a community of like-minded survivors, caregivers, volunteers, and participants who believe that the future can be free from cancer.
Hancock County Relay for Life is Saturday the 25th at Ellsworth Elementary – Middle School, on the track from 6 until 10 p.m.
Event Lead for Hancock County Relay for Life is Brandy Marchetti.
“Hope can’t be cancelled. We’re still working for a cure, and we’re in a better place than we were last year and we’re Looking forward to this year’s event, which is coming up fast”
Although again this year some of the Covid 19 safety protocols will be in place, the event is still very important to so many people.
“The event is about doing something together, which means so much to the survivors and the supporters and the volunteers”
Yes there are tears shed, but there are other emotions during the evening too.
“There are so many fun ways to raise funds for the American Cancer Society and we are once again having the deejay all request hour, and all money raised goes to the cause. Funds are raised for song requests, and a little more to veto a request, and even more money to make sure the song isn’t played for the rest of the night. All in good fun”
