A Hampden man died as the result of a motorcycle crash in the town of Prospect.

Have Police Released the Identity of the Hampden Man?

Christopher Sabol, 23, of Hampden died at the scene of the crash.

What Happened?

Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss says Maine State Police Troopers were called to a two-vehicle crash near 223 Ford Knox Road in Prospect just after 3:30 Saturday afternoon. When they arrived, they found a motorcycle and a Subaru Crosstrek, with one victim deceased.

An initial investigation into the circumstances of the crash indicate that Christopher Sabol was traveling westbound on his bike with a group of other motorcycles when he passed a car at a high rate of speed. He then failed to negotiate a curve and slammed into the side of a Crosstrek.

Was Anyone Else Hurt in the Crash?

The driver of the Subaru was not hurt in the incident.

Our condolences to Mr. Sabol's family and friends.

This crash remains under investigation.
