A fundraiser is being held this Sunday in Brewer for a local musician who's recovering from a tragic accident. Ricky Carter, Jr. is best known as the elder member of "The Carter Boys." I was pleasantly surprised this week when a friend from Sony Entertainment in Nashville surprised me with a donation for the auction - a beautiful Rogue acoustic guitar signed by country star Chris Young!

Josh Easler grew up listening to the Q from his hometown of Corinth. He now works for Sony Entertainment in Nashville and keeps track of his home state through our website. A HUGE thank you to Josh for donating this guitar to the auction!

The Ricky Carter, Jr. fundraiser is going on this Sunday from 1 to 7pm at Cap's Tavern on South Main Street in Brewer. There will be live music all day, food available, and both a silent and live auction. A $3 donation gets you in the door with a suggested $5 donation for the food table. We hope you can stop by!

If you can't make it to the fundraiser but would still like to help out, monetary donations are being accepted at People's United Bank, 191 River Road, Orrington, ME 04474. Here's a picture of Ricky as he gets a little "Carter therapy" with his guitar. He's doing great!
