A former Jackman doctor was re-arrested in Brewer last week for alleged sex crimes against minors.

Gerald Keenan, 65, was arrested Friday by State and Brewer Police at a Brewer apartment, where he had been living, according to police. Keenan faces 21 counts related to alleged sexual contact or assault on two preteen boys in Jackman, where he worked in the late 1990's. The arrest came after indictments were handed down last week by the Somerset County Grand Jury.

Keenan had been arrested in Louisiana earlier this year and brought back to Maine by State Police detectives on sexual conduct charges with one of the boys. At the time of that arrest, the 6-year-old had been working as the director of the University of Holy Cross' physician assistant program. A second victim then came forward with new accusations, following that arrest. The former doctor is indicted on 3 counts of gross sexual assault, 14 counts of unlawful sexual conduct, and 4 counts of sexual abuse with a minor.

He was out on bail wen he was re-arrested in Brewer on Friday. Keenan was taken to the Penobscot County Jail, and is expected to be transferred to the Somerset County Jail.
