Former Maine Doctor Accused Of Sexual Abuse Of Child
A former doctor, who practiced in Jackman, is facing charges for the alleged sexual abuse of a pediatric patient.
64-year-old Gerald Keenan is currently the director of the University of Holy Cross' physician assistant program. But the Gross Sexual Assault charge concerns a patient in Maine, when Keenan was practicing at the Jackman Community Health Center between 1998 and 2001.
Maine State Police told NOLA.com that the assaults happened at Keegan's home and at the boy's home, beginning when the boy was 10 and until he was 13. Keenan used Facebook to contact the boy in 2017 and, according to police, is alleged to have admitted to and apologized for his actions. WABI-TV reports the victim allegedly arranged for and recorded a video call with Keenan, which was given to police.
Keenan has been placed on administrative leave at Holy Cross.
