Former American Idol Contestant Dies in Maine Motorcycle Crash

A former American Idol contestant died Saturday in a motorcycle crash in Millinocket.

Haley Smith, 26, died in the one-vehicle crash when she failed to negotiate a turn on Medway Road at about 2 a.m., according to a report on WABI.

Smith, who is from Utah, appeared in Season 11 of American Idol in 2012.

TMZ is reporting Smith's father believes a deer might have caused the accident.
