Father Killed And Son Injured In Belgrade Police-Involved Shooting
A confrontation at a Belgrade mobile home between a father and son and police officers ended when the father was shot and killed and his son was wounded.
Centralmaine.com reports the trouble started Friday night when neighbors called police to report a disturbance at the home of 65-year-old Roger Bubar on the Oakland Road. Neighbors said he and his son, 40-year-old Scott Bubar, were arguing loudly in the driveway.
The Kennebec County Sheriff's Office says Sergeant Jacob Pierce reportedly shot back when one of the men fired at him from inside the home. A neighbor told reporters that he heard the first gunshots at around 9:30 p.m. and that they increased in frequency for the next couple of hours.
When the standoff was over, Roger Bubar was dead and his son was wounded. The Attorney General's Office is now investigating the incident, which is standard procedure for all police-involved shootings.
