Maine State Police are investigating a fatal crash in New Sharon that also injured a passenger.

Where Did the Crash Happen?

Officials were called to the scene of a two-vehicle crash on Route 2 in New Sharon at approximately 11:45 Monday morning.

What Happened?

An investigation of the circumstances of the crash indicate that the driver of a maroon Ford Focus was pulling out of Tuttles Auto Sales to turn left onto Route 2 when the driver of a Gray Dodge Ram was unable to stop and struck the Focus. The driver of the Focus was pronounced dead at the scene.

Was Anyone Else Hurt?

A passenger in the Focus was transported via LifeFlight to Maine Medical Center with critical injuries. Officials say the driver of the Dodge Ram, 64-year-old Shawn Dunning of Jackman, was not injured.

The name of the deceased and the passenger have not been released.

This crash remains under investigation.
