The Knox County Sheriff's Office is investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed one person and sent another to the hospital.

Where Was the Crash?

First responders rushed to the area of 80 Spear Mill Road in Cushing Wednesday evening, after several witnesses called 911 to report a serious crash. When first responders arrived, they found a 2006 blue Toyota Corolla which had left the roadway and struck a tree.

Who Was in the Vehicle?

Officials say the driver, Dalton Cross, 29 of South Thomaston, died at the scene. His passenger, Tailynne Fogg, 19 of Rockland, had been ejected from the vehicle and was injured. A LifeFlight helicopter was called to the scene to transport her to a local trauma center.

Do Officials Know What Caused It?

The Knox County Sheriff's Department continues to investigate to try and determine what caused the vehicle to crash.
