Maine State Police say a pedestrian was killed when he was hit by a tractor-trailer on an I-95 off-ramp.

A Fairfield Man Was Fatally Stuck by a Truck on I-95

Mark Michaud, 49, of Fairfield died at the scene of the crash. The truck driver, Damon Sylvia, 19, of Milford wasn't hurt.

Maine State Police Say the Pedestrian Was Trying to Cross the Ramp

It was just after 3:30 Friday morning when the Bangor Regional Communications Center received a 911 call reporting that a tractor-trailer unit had struck a pedestrian at mile marker 132 southbound in Fairfield. When Troopers arrived, they determined that Mr. Michaud was struck by the truck as he was attempting to cross the off-ramp at exit 132.

The Exit Ramp in Fairfield Has Been Reopened to Traffic

The exit ramp was closed for a time while police cleared the scene, but has now been reopened. This crash remains under investigation.
