Police Say It Appears the Ellsworth Man Was Retrieving Tools From the Roadway
An investigation into the circumstances leading up to the crash indicate that Card was in the southbound travel lane of the roadway when he was hit by Mr. Tallent's Toyota Camry. It's believed that Card was picking up tools from the road that had fallen from his own vehicle, which was parked at the intersection of Bangor and Shore Roads. Tallent was alone in his vehicle and was uninjured.
The crash remains under investigation. Once the investigation is complete, the case will be turned over to the District Attorney's Office to determine whether any charges will be filed.
Our condolences to Mr. Card's family and friends.
