Time to celebrate a revival of two traditional foods. Hard cider And cheese.

This weekend in downtown Ellsworth, it is the down east Cider & Cheese Festival.

And in person tastings are back for 2022

Join Heart of Ellsworth for sit down guided tastings of several hard ciders and cheeses.

This also includes participation by several Ellsworth restaurant and bar owners, and will feature special guest Sean Turley who is the founder of the Portland Cider Club

The tasting events run Saturday the 12th at 6 p.m.  and Sunday the 13th at 2 p.m., and are ticketed events. Information can be found here. 

Other events will take place at various locations in Ellsworth as well and the full schedule can be found here.

Merrill Park on Franklin Street will host a free Festival Market between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday,with free events including cider pressing demonstrations, apple tasting and live music.

Concurrently Cider Bazaar at Festival Market will be a ticketed event in the same location.

The weekend will be kicked off with a Book Talk with Claude Jolicoeur, the author of The New Cider Maker’s Handbook. That takes place Friday evening between 6 and 7:30 p.m. at Flexit Café.

All ticketed events are 21 plus with a limited number of available tickets.
