Maine officials have identified a man whose body was found in the woods in Edgecomb and ruled his death a homicide.

Maine Officials Say a Virginia Man Was Murdered

The deceased has been identified as William Nathaniel Robinson, 34, of Austinville, Virginia. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta positively identified the man and ruled his death a homicide after confirming that he died of a gunshot wound.

The Body Was Found By a Hunter in Edgecomb

Robinson's body was discovered on Tuesday, December 3rd by a hunter. Members of the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office responded to an area of woods near the Schmid Land Preserve on Old County Road in Edgecomb. Detectives began investigating while the body was transported for an autopsy.

So Far, No Arrests Have Been Made for the Edgecomb Death

Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss says Robinson had been staying at a home in Edgecomb at the time of his death. So far, no suspects have been named in this case and police haven't reported any arrests. This investigation is ongoing and police say there's no known danger to the public.
