A Drug Bust in Exeter Nets Fentanyl, a Firearm, and 1 Arrest
The Penobscot County Sheriff's Office has arrested one man after a drug bust in Exeter.
Where Did This Happen?
It was approximately 7:00 Wednesday morning when members of the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office served the warrant at a residence on the Exeter Road in Exeter. During the execution of that warrant, officials seized a substantial amount of suspected fentanyl, a firearm, and suspected cash proceeds from drug sales.
Who Was Arrested?
Based on the evidence found in the home, officials arrested Carl Sprague, 67, and charged him with:
- Aggravated trafficking of scheduled drugs
- Possession of a firearm by a prohibited person
The search warrant was the result of a weeks-long investigation by Penobscot County Sheriff's Deputies into drug trafficking activity. They were assisted by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and Mayo Ambulance.
