A Deer Isle man is facing multiple charges after biting a State Police Trooper at the scene of an accident and punching a vehicle.

The Ellsworth American reports 44-year-old Richard Bubar had bail conditions for a previous road rage incident when the accident happened on the Mines Road in Sedgwick on February 8th. Police say, during the investigation of the accident, Bubar punched a witness's vehicle and bit Trooper Blaine Silk on his gloved hand while being taken into custody. Later, Bubar had to be taken to the hospital after he injured his arm by repeatedly hitting the cell door.

On July 31st, Bubar allegedly assaulted a couple and their two children on the Graytown Road in Sedwick. He's charged with Violating Conditions of Release, Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of an Intoxicant, Criminal Mischief, and Assault for the latest incident.
