The search of a camper in Clinton turned up drugs, stolen items, and a man with multiple active warrants.

The Clinton Resident Had Four Felony Warrants When Police Arrested Him

Israel Carpenter had five active warrants, including four felony warrants for his arrest when police searched his home on Thursday. He was also under three sets of felony conditions of release and one set of misdemeanor conditions of release.

He's now additionally charged with:

  • Aggravated trafficking of scheduled drugs
  • Unlawful possession of scheduled drugs
  • Violating conditions of release

The new charges stem from an investigation that included the execution of two search warrants on his property.

A Search of the Clinton Property Turned Up Stolen Items, Weapons, and Drugs

When Clinton Police received information that suggested Carpenter would be armed, they enlisted the help of the Maine State Police Tactical Team in executing a search warrant at his home, a camper that was set up across from 774 Main Street in Clinton. Officials used a flash bang device after Carpenter initially refused to surrender, but he was arrested without incident 40 to 50 minutes later.

As a result of this investigation, Police seized the following items from Carpenter's residence:

  • Many edged weapons
  • Many firearms
  • Stolen motorcycle
  • 299.3 grams of methamphetamine
  • 48.8 grams of fentanyl
  • 11 hydrocodone pills
  • 16.5 grams of cocaine
  • Alcohol in violation of his conditions of release

He is currently being held at the Kennebec County Jail.
