The new Chick-Fil-A is set to open next week and will offer free meals for a year to 100 people in exchange for a day of charitable work.

Each time a Chick-Fil-A restaurant opens, they offer a 'First 100' contest, where the first 100 people in line get gift cards good for one free meal each week for a year. That's pretty cool! But for the first chicken sandwich restaurant to open in Maine they decided to do something a little different.

They're calling it the 'First 100 Road Trip.' On November 2nd, residents are encouraged to line up at the Stillwater Avenue location, starting at 5:30 in the morning. (and no earlier) Registration will begin at 6:00. When it comes time to choose the 'First 100,' if there are more than 100 people in line, the winners will be chosen by lottery drawing. Then, at 9 a.m., the chosen 100 will board a bus for a day of charity work, in exchange for those gift cards.

First, they'll pack thousands of meals for area food shelters. And then, according to the BDN, they'll head to the Briar Patch bookstore in Downtown Bangor to pick out books (which Chick-Fil-A will pay for) to be donated to Boys' and Girls' Clubs in Bangor. After a six-hour day of charitable work, the winners will return to the Stillwater Avenue location of the restaurant to get their First 100 cards. Complete rules are available on the restaurant's Facebook page.

Chick-Fil-A will open its Stillwater Avenue restaurant on November 3rd.
