At the risk of outing myself as older than I care to admit, I came across a series of videos that just about blew my mind. When I was a kid in the late 70's and early 80's, my house was no stranger to the Dick Stacey Country Jamboree.

Some of my earliest musical memories are watching the show on TV, or seeing my dad's band play at Stacey's Motel. Often when the bar was closed during the day, I would go in and play the drums that belonged to the drummer in my dad's band. That is until Dick got annoyed, and he would come down and shut the lights off. Seriously!

So when I ran across this commercial in particular, I almost fell out of my chair. It's like I was right back home on the living room floor in my Spider-Man pajamas, glued to the TV waiting for the Jamboree to come back on.

I know many fans of Q106.5 remember the old days of Stacey's Plaza Motel and the Country Music Jamboree, so why don't we all take a trip down memory lane together right now?

Check out this awesome commercial for the Motel:

And also enjoy this majestic piece of songwriting all about Dick Stacey that also includes an excerpt from the show itself. It's absolutely stunning.

I think we can all agree that this was really sort of a golden age around the Bangor area. So take a dandy stroll down memory lane, and relive your own Dick Stacey memories.
