Maine Drug Agents Arrest 8 People from Maine and Georgia
An extensive investigation into drug trafficking in Central Maine has resulted in the arrests of seven people from Maine and one resident of Georgia.
What Drugs Were Seized in This Investigation?
Drug agents from Augusta, Thomaston, and Lewiston have been working together on an investigation for several months that led to eight people being arrested. The investigation was looking into the sale of crack cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine throughout Waldo, Kennebec, and Androscoggin Counties and included many hours of surveillance, vehicle stops, undercover purchases of a variety of drugs from this group, and the execution of several search warrants.
The drugs seized in the process of this operation included over 175 grams of cocaine base, which is also known as crack cocaine and 60 grams of Fentanyl. Officials say the estimated street value of the drugs seized is approximately $20,000.
Who Are the People Facing Charges?
Arrested as a result of this investigation were:
- Stephen Davis, 27, of Waterville who's charged with aggravated trafficking of Fentanyl and aggravated trafficking of cocaine (cocaine base)
- Baron Thompson, 45, of Winslow is charged with trafficking of Fentanyl and trafficking of cocaine (cocaine base)
- Meloney Moody, 48, of Winslow is charged with aggravated trafficking of cocaine (cocaine base), aggravated trafficking of Fentanyl, and aggravated trafficking of methamphetamine
- Dawn Wilbur, 51, of Winslow is charged with trafficking of cocaine (cocaine base)
- Charles HInton, 45, Savannah, Georgia is charged with trafficking of cocaine (cocaine base) and felony possession of Fentanyl
- Dominique Kirk, 24, of Lewiston is charged with aggravated trafficking of Fentanyl and aggravated trafficking of cocaine (cocaine base)
- Allen James, 41, of Waterville is charged with aggravated trafficking of cocaine (cocaine base)
- Alivia Gordon, 25, of Jackson is charged with trafficking of cocaine (cocaine base)
Davis was arrested in June, while all the other arrests have been over the past week. Thompson, Moody, Wilbur, Hinton, and Kirk were arrested on August 23rd following the execution of two search warrants at homes on Bellevue Street in Winslow. James and Gordon were arrested on August 27th following a vehicle pursuit by the Maine State Police in Augusta.
