Calling All Veterans! Music and Valuable Connections Await You in Bangor (Audio Interview)
When Sgt. First Class Nathaniel Grace first saw Toby Keith in concert, he was in Kandahar, Afghanistan back in 2009.
Sgt. Grace was part of a set-up crew for the show and that's when he witnessed first hand Keith's commitment to the men and women of the United States military. He says Keith showed true grit in a concert situation Sgt. Grace refers to as "kind of a hairy situation."
Now stateside, the Maine National Guard Community Liason works in coordination with the Maine Military and Community Network and he wants Maine military veterans to know there are many valuable resources available to them.
That's where the idea of the Resource Fair for Vets at Monday's Toby Keith concert on the Bangor Waterfront was born.
An important note here.
All Maine military veterans are invited to the Resource Fair Monday, September 2, from 4 until 6:30pm near the Darling's Waterfront Pavilion, regardless of whether or not you attend the Toby Keith concert!
Sgt. Grace says there will be at least twenty vendors at the Resource Fair, but they're not selling anything, rather providing great information for Maine's veterans about programs and services that can support those who have sacrificed to protect our freedoms.
The event is sponsored by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. Just listen to what awaits Maine veterans Monday.
Now as if tons of valuable information and contacts isn't enough, Sgt. Grace says for alll those veterans coming to the Resource Fair Monday, their names will be entered into a drawing and five lucky Maine veterans Monday evening will receive a Platinum Tent pass for the Toby Keith show, and they'll be able to meet the country music artist who has shown his devotion to our military.
