Bucksport High School is Investigating a 'Safety Concern' at the High School
In a post on the school's Facebook page, administrators say that the school is closing early because of a 'safety concern' communicated through social media. Bucksport's Public Safety departments are assisting the school with the situation.
High School Students are Being Dismissed in a Variety of Ways
How students are being dismissed depends on their mode of transportation:
- Students that usually depart the school by bus will be taken by bus to their home address.
- Students who walk home or use personal vehicles will depart the same way.
- Parents and guardians picking their students up at the school will need to do so at the front of the building and will have to call the office, 207-469-6650, and their student will be dismissed. No one will be allowed to enter the building.
Administrators are asking for patience from parents and guardians because a limited number of people will be available to answer the phone.
Bucksport High School Officials Say There is No Active Incident or Injuries
All of this is being done out of an abundance of caution to allow further investigation of this incident. Officials say there is no injury or active incident at the building.
