A Biddeford woman was arrested in New York for the attempted murder of a woman in Saco.

Who Was Arrested?

Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss says Ariana Tito, 18, of Biddeford is charged with attempted murder and elevated aggravated assault.

Is This Case Connected to the Arrest of the Biddeford Murder Suspect?

Officials say Tito is accused of shooting Kayla Grant, 32, of Saco on November 28th at 103 Temple Street. Grant was seriously injured in the incident and taken to a local hospital in critical but stable condition.

The day before this shooting, Lorenze Labonte was arrested and charged with murder for the shooting death of Ahmed Sharif of Lewiston. Sharif's body was found in a Biddeford apartment. Police have not commented on how the two cases may be connected.

Where Was Tito Taken Into Custody?

Ariana Tito was located on Friday, December 1st by an FBI task force in Brooklyn, New York, and taken into custody and transported to Rikers Island. She is awaiting a court appearance in Brooklyn, New York when extradition to Maine will be determined.
