
One Person and a Dog Died in a Fire in Benton, Maine
The Maine Fire Marshal's Office is investigating a fatal fire in the town of Benton.
Benton, Maine, House Fire Kills 1 Person and 1 Dog
The name of the deceased has not been released, pending the results of an autopsy. Maine's Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death and positively identify the victim.

Benton, Maine Street Was Closed by a House Fire
Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesperson Shannon Moss says the fire was reported in the early morning hours on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. Crews responded to 70 Pleasant Drive in Benton to find a single-family home that was fully involved in flames.
Several area departments were called in for mutual aid to help battle the blaze, and Pleasant Street was temporarily closed to allow for emergency operations.
The Cause of a Benton, Maine, House Fire is Under Investigation
As firefighters made their way through the fire, they discovered a deceased person inside the house, as well as a dog that had died in the fire.
The State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating to determine the cause of the fire.
