The Freedom House Bed and Breakfast in Dover-Foxcroft is inviting folks interested in trying to win the inn through an essay contest to stop by for an open house and see what the B&B has to offer!

A few months ago, we told you about an essay contest that will give away the Freedom House B&B to the winning entry. The current owners have received some entries, but thought it would be fun to open up the doors and allow folks to wander through, so they can get a feel for what a great place it is!

The Open House is being held on Saturday and Sunday, August 20th and 21st. Chris and Dennis Aplanalp will be giving tours of the 1880's farmhouse and cottage between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. No appointments are necessary. Just stop by during that time and they'll be happy to show you the business that you could win!

Dennis and Chris are former West Coasters who bought the inn years ago and decided to convert it into a Bed and Breakfast. But now, after nearly 13 years of running the business (and loving it), they've decided to retire and devote more time to family. So, instead of putting the inn up for sale, they thought it would be fun to offer it as a prize in an essay contest. It costs just $150 to submit a 199-word-or-less essay explaining why you think you're the right person to run the Freedom House. The winner will be announced on September 19th, 2016.

You can find out more about the property and see photos at the essay contest's website.
