Another Maine Bed and Breakfast is being given away in an essay contest, this time in Dover-Foxcroft.

The Freedom House B and B is located on East Main Street in Dover-Foxcroft and is currently owned by Dennis and Chris Aplanalp. The West Coast couple moved to Maine years ago and purchased the 1880's-era farmhouse, with the intention of converting it into a B&B. After a year and a half of renovations, the Freedom House was born.

Now, after operating the inn for nearly 13 years, the couple has decided it's time to retire and spend more time with family. So they decided to award the business through an essay contest.

It's $150 to enter, and the essay needs to be less than 200 words. The owners will pick the top 25 entries, and then those essays will be judged by a panel of 3 people who are not related to the owners and have no vested interest in the outcome. You can read the rules and learn more about the required essay topic on the inn's contest website.

Pictures on the Freedom House Facebook page show a beautiful yellow farmhouse, decorated with country charm. It could be a dream come true for one lucky essay writer. Maybe that's you!
