Many years ago I did some freelance commercial voice over work. It's a very interesting field. You get hired based upon what you sound like, and what the client is trying to achieve. You go into a studio. It's you and a microphone and a reading board with the script. They record you as you work through take after take, occasionally you get direction from the other side of the glass.  Things like 'a little more energy' 'Slow down' 'Speed up'..  And after a few dozen takes, they end up using one of the first two or three attempts.

But it's fun. A great way to make, or supplement a living. If you've ever wondered what it would be like, this week be listening to the Q106.5 Morning Show. Traxxas Monster Trucks Tour is coming to Cross Insurance Center April 14th and 15th, and you can win your family four packs of tickets when you play 'Be The Monster Truck Announcer'

And if you don't get a chance to play, be listening this weekend. We'll have tickets for you to win all weekend at Q1065.FM

Oh, I almost forgot. Listen to the pro announcer. When he says 'The one that started it all ... Big Foot' what does the last word he says sound like to you?
