
Bar Harbor Structure Collapses at Hotel, Killing a Florida Man
One person is dead after the covering over a walkway at a hotel in Bar Harbor collapsed.
Florida Man Died in the Incident at Bar Harbor's Regency Hotel
Mark King, 64, of Boynton Beach, Florida was killed in the incident at the Bar Harbor Regency Hotel.
Bar Harbor Officials Say the Cover Over a Walkway Collapsed
Members of the Bar Harbor Fire Department responded to 123 Eden Street just before 7:00 Monday morning, for a report of a person trapped in a roof collapse. The wooden canopy that covered a walkway at the hotel had fallen, trapping King beneath the debris.
Fire officials were able to free him from the debris but, despite their best efforts, he succumbed to his injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Incident at the Bar Harbor Hotel is Under Investigation by OSHA
This incident remains under investigation, by several local and state agencies, including the Bar Harbor and Mount Desert Police Departments, Maine's Chief Medical Examiner, and the Department of Occupational Safety and Health Administration, or OSHA.
