Bangor, Maine Police K9 Apprehends 1 of 3 Suspects During Drug Bust

When two out of three suspects fled from a drug-related traffic stop, a Bangor Police K9 helped to stop one in his tracks.

Bangor, Maine Police Charge 3 With Drug Possession After a Traffic Stop

All three suspects are facing charges:

Julie Edwards, 61, of Bangor

• Unlawful possession of Schedule W drugs
• Operating a motor vehicle with a license expired for more than 90 days

Adam Gray, 43, of Eddington

• Refusal to submit to arrest or detention
• Failure to give a correct name and date of birth
• Unlawful possession of Schedule W drugs
• Violation of conditions of release x3.

Kevin Gray, 44, of Bangor

• Refusal to submit to arrest or detention
• Unlawful possession of Schedule W drugs
• Failure to give correct name and date of birth

The three were arrested after a traffic stop.

3 Face Drug Charges in Bangor, Maine After Being Stopped for an Unlicensed Driver

Bangor Police Officer Alvarado observed Edwards driving on Main Street, just after 12:30 on Wednesday afternoon, August 12, 2026.

The officer contacted dispatch to confirm that Edwards did not have a valid driver's license and tried to stop the vehicle after receiving confirmation.

Edwards finally pulled over on March Street in Bangor, and Alvarado spoke with all three occupants of the vehicle.

At first, one of the male passengers refused to identify himself while the other gave a false name.

When the men had been identified and the police noticed drug-related paraphernalia, all three occupants were asked to step out of the vehicle.

Officer Reynolds' K9 partner, Raye, indicated the presence of drugs in the vehicle, and the three suspects were told that they would be searched.

At this point, the two men began to run.

Officers Alvarado and Grenier caught Kevin Gray and placed him under arrest, but Adam Gray allegedly actively resisted being taken into custody by Officer Reynolds.

Reynolds deployed K9 Raye, who assisted in subduing Adam Gray.

He was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries before being booked into the Penobscot County Jail.

Officer Reynolds was also treated for minor injuries sustained in the altercation with Adam Gray.
