A Bangor man is facing charges after allegedly setting a tent on fire during a fight and tossing propane into the fire.

Paul O'Neal, 38, of Bangor is charged with one count each of domestic violence assault and arson.
Officials Say the Bangor Man Allegedly Threw Propane Canisters Into a Tent Fire
Bangor Police Sergeant Jason McAmbley says the incident began shortly before midnight on Saturday, October 26th. Officers were called to the dead end of Sunset Avenue for a report of a fight and a tent on fire. The victim reported that they had allegedly been assaulted by O'Neal before he allegedly set fire to the tent. The victim told authorities that O'Neal was allegedly tossing propane canisters into the fire, causing explosions that officials say were heard over a mile away. O'Neal then fled the scene.
The Suspect Was Arrested and Taken to the Penobscot County Jail
The victim told the police that they had injuries but declined medical treatment. O'Neal was located on Sunday, shortly before noon, was arrested, and transported to the Penobscot County Jail. The victim's name has not been released.
