Detective Lieutenant Brent Beaulieu says it was just before 1:00 Friday afternoon when the Bangor Police Department learned of the discovery. Potential human remains had been found in a wooded area of the city near Texas Avenue.

Bangor Police Say Foul Play is Not Suspected

An initial investigation indicates no criminal element appears to have been involved in the person's death. A more extensive examination will be done by the Chief Medical Examiner's Office to attempt to identify the person and determine how they died.
