A post on the Bangor Police Department's famous Facebook page today offers advice to tourists from the mid-Atlantic states as they brace for a major snowstorm.

The information is written in true Bangor PD fashion, with tongue firmly planted in cheek, and a little self-deprecation about how tourists view us. But, beyond the humor, is some solid advice about how to survive a major storm. I would only add that you'll want a cooler full of ice (or snow) to keep the milk cold for your Cap'n Crunch. Or you could just toss it outside in a snowbank!

To my in-laws-to-be in New Jersey, be safe!

Dear Mid-Atlantic of these United States of America.I think we all knew it could happen. Every year when you pack up...
