Spooky season is half a year away, but plans are in the works to bring back a haunted house inside the Bangor Mall.

Maineiac Manor will return in October. Organizers for the haunted house inside the Bangor Mall announced on Facebook, "Your worst nightmare returning October 2021." The haunt took over a vacant store inside the mall last year, and transformed it into 4,000 square-feet of terror. The success of the attraction extended beyond Halloween season, with a Krampus Christmas themed haunted house back in December.

Maineiac Manor was able to fill a spooky season void that was left when most annual haunted houses didn't open due to COVID-19 concerns. The 2020 Fright At The Fort at Fort Knox in Prospect was canceled for the first time since it began 20 years ago. The annual Kenduskeag Haunted House also didn't open for the 2020 season. Both events are hoping to return in 2021.

Fans of Maineiac Manor can stay up-to-date on the upcoming haunt on their Facebook page. In case you were wondering just how scary this haunted house is; it's not recommended for children under the age of 13. Start working up your courage now.
